The new school in the centre of Edinburgh!

We are proud to introduce the new English Language School in central Edinburgh, the Caledonian Language School. Although the school is new, the staff have a wealth of experience, in some cases more than 20 years of teaching English to students from other countries. We have taught beginners to advanced levels, professors and primary school teachers, school students and shop assistants, young and old. As you would expect, we also have experience of running examination preparation classes, and preparing students for study at university in the UK, or for working here.

The school is starting up because Telford College, where the Principal and staff used to work, is changing how it delivers ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses, and cutting back the number of courses. You will know about education cuts, which are happening in many countries; Scotland is no different. However, it gives us the opportunity to launch our new enterprise, and to offer courses with the same high level of professionalism, and priced as economically as before.

To ensure the same level of quality, we intend to apply for English UK (British Council) accreditation in the first year of operating.

At the Caledonian Language School, we offer English courses at a variety of levels, from Pre-Intermediate to Advanced. You can study English full-time during the day, or take a part-time English course in the evening. You can take a General English course, or prepare for an examination like Cambridge First Certificate or IELTS. Before starting your course, you will be able to discuss what will suit you best, depending on your level of English and other commitments.
